The Challenge

The platform needed to include a mobile app for yard managers, a dedicated module for livery management, and a separate application for the racing segment of the industry. The founders engaged a developer in late 2025 who committed to delivering the MVP within two months, with a target delivery of November. However, months passed with little progress. By January 2026, after repeated delays and unmet milestones, the founder was left with a partially built mobile app, no functional backend, and a rapidly closing window to enter the market before competitors could establish themselves. Rather than starting from scratch, we reverse-engineered the existing mobile app codebase to understand the data models, API contracts, and business logic the original developer had been working towards. Using Claude Code, our AI-first engineering approach, we then rebuilt the entire backend in just three days.
This was not a rushed, throwaway prototype. The backend was built on solid architectural foundations with proper data modelling, API design, authentication, and error handling. Claude Code allowed our engineers to move at a velocity that would be impossible with traditional development alone.
